Hello, everyone!

Welcome to my blog!  Let me introduce my names first.  You can call me Jean, my English name.  The people in Orchid Island like to name me Sinanmipolat.  My Chinese name is Chang Chin-yi , yet I prefer to sign it  "Smile Jean."

I love kids so much.  They all deserve to be cherished.  That’s why I have been teaching English for twenty years.  In my heart, education is just like what William Butler Yeats says "Education is not the filling of a pail, but the lighting of a fire."

To light up the students’ motivation of learning English is one of my teaching goals.  I believe a happier English learning atmosphere for my students will make them learn easier and faster.

Truly, students have taught me a lot.  They help me to head for being a
better teacher, so they are my teachers actually.  It takes me much time and energy to plan the curriculum, to tolerate their childishness, to empathize their frustration, but
I always have found that it is worth the trouble.
